New, flexible church hall facilities with meeting rooms and a café with associated catering kitchen have been created in a modern extension of the Cathedral.  

With the exception of the toilets the building is entirely naturally ventilated.  

Irons Foulner's lighting design is used to dramatic effect inside the building and externally.  

This project received a commendation at the Scottish Design and Architecture Awards 2005.
