The practice is part of the design team appointed for the major refurbishment and extension of the front of house and back of house accommodation at Scotland’s premier concert hall.

A key challenge in this project is to incorporate the substantial services required to make the Usher Hall function as a world class venue by today’s standards without making unacceptable interventions with the historic fabric of the building.

Very careful consideration has been given to routes for services and unconventional approaches to ventilation have been applied to achieve a goal that at first sight appeared impossible.
